The Tilden Archeology Fund
In 2022, preservation carpenters removed the wooden floor in the circa 1850 addition on the south-west facade. Under the floor, several pairs of shoes, china, bottles and assorted household items can be seen on the surface of the soil. We recovered over 1600 artifacts from this small interior space.

Finding artifacts in the ground under the house was unexpected and wonderfully surprising. To help us defray the cost of the interpreting this archeological resource, please consider a tax-deductible gift. All donations to the Tilden Archeology & Interpretation Fund will be earmarked as such and donors will be invited to special events that showcase the work and the artifacts being recovered.
